Having worked as a junior acrobatics, gymnastics and football conditioning coach for two years, Gaetano graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy from Sydney University in 2012. Before joining the CBD Physiotherapy team in 2016, he worked for a number of years as an acute rehabilitation physiotherapist for patients post orthopedic, cardiac and general surgeries. Over the years Gaetano began to develop interests in rehabilitation of amputees and orthopedic patients, which led him into an outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy role. This is where he developed his true passion for sports physiotherapy and advanced rehabilitation.
Gaetano’s advanced study of biomechanical analysis, exercise physiology and motor learning has allowed him to look at injuries and pain in different ways than others. From this he has learned that an individual’s path back from injury is much like an elite sportsperson’s return back to the game – guided and managed by a watchful and trained eye.
Gaetano enjoys rehabilitating patients from the acute and sub-acute stages of injury, all the way through to return to work or sport. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves all things sport. And he loves to get his patients excited and engaged in their rehabilitation program. Just don’t get him talking about his beloved Chelsea FC, because there is just not enough time in the day.
